Richmond, VA - In response to the attacks on U.S. officials in Libya and the U.S. embassy in Cairo, former governor and U.S. Senate candidate Tim Kaine released the following statement:
"Attacks on U.S. officials in Libya and on our embassy in Cairo are deplorable and unacceptable and I strongly support action and resources to bring the perpetrators to justice. Our thoughts go out to the families and loved ones of the foreign service members who gave their lives, and our prayers remain with those who continue to be stationed abroad. These events should serve as a reminder of the sacrifice of those who serve overseas - in the military and diplomatic corps - to promote peace and diplomacy across the globe. We are forever grateful to them and their families for the service and the security they foster for our nation."
