The Robertson Bridge project is moving into its final phases and will be finished in the next couple of months.
Zack Weddle, the Virginia Department of Transportation’s area construction engineer, said the project is scheduled to be finished by Sept. 13.
The deck (driving surface) is complete in both directions. Weddle said guardrails and lighting will complete the actual bridge part of the project, but some work remains on reconfiguring Memorial Drive’s entrances to the bridge. There is also some utility work related to the road project that needs to be done.
