Northern Virginia Community College awards the most associate degrees compared to other two-year institutions around the country, according to a new report by Community College Week.
During the 2010-11 academic year, NVCC students earned 4,695 associate degrees, more than 21 percent more than the previous year. Houston Community College came in second with 3,606 associate degrees awarded.
NVCC President Robert G. Templin Jr. credits the increase to more people recognizing the value of completing an associate degree.
