Richmond, VA - Today, Tim Kaine released two new radio ads featuring U.S. Senator Mark Warner discussing the Kaine-Warner record of moving Virginia forward by increasing business friendliness and investing in education. In the ads, Senator Warner endorses Kaine’s forward-looking strategies to create jobs and grow the economy, and tells Virginians he needs another partner who will work across the aisle to get results in the U.S. Senate.
In “Partnership,” Warner and Kaine discuss their commitment to bringing both parties together to “reduce our debt and invest in schools and small businesses so we can grow the middle class and create jobs.” The sixty-second ad, which will run in Northern Virginia markets, also notes endorsements Kaine has received from major newspapers across Virginia that have praised his leadership in tough times and his record of civility over partisanship.
In “Mark,” Warner criticizes the millions of dollars in attack ads that have been launched against Kaine. “Tim was a fiscally conservative governor during the worst recession in decades. He cut spending by 5 billion dollars and even cut his own pay to save money,” Warner says. “No one knows Tim’s record better than me.” Warner and Kaine have known each other for more than 30 years, including service together as governor and lieutenant governor. “Tim Kaine shares our Virginia values and he’s always done what’s best for Virginia families,” says Warner.
“I’m honored to have the support of my good friend Mark Warner and proud of the work we’ve done in the Commonwealth to expand economic and educational opportunity for all Virginians,” said Kaine. “As senator, I look forward to working with Mark to continue what we started as governors to grow the economy and create jobs by bringing both parties together. Washington has too many partisans and not enough partners but with the right people in place we can achieve results that will accelerate the American economy and position the Commonwealth and the country for future success.”
“Mark” and “Partnership” are the latest Kaine for Virginia ads featuring Warner after the release of the television advertisement, “Great Team.” Warner has joined Kaine for campaign swings across the Commonwealth including economic discussions in Northern Virginia, Hampton Roads, Fredericksburg, Roanoke, Charlottesville, and Richmond.
