Richmond, VA - In his third Spanish television and radio advertisement, “Soy Virginia (I am Virginia),” former governor and U.S. Senate candidate Tim Kaine celebrates the diversity of Virginia and the contributions of all Virginians to our economic strength. The 30-second television and radio ad features the voices of Virginia Latinos, including men, women, children, students, and small business owners, declaring “Soy Virginia.” Like Kaine’s previous ads, “Valores (Values)” and “Apoyar (Support),” this message features Tim Kaine speaking directly to Latino voters in Spanish and asking for their support.
“Some believe that cultural diversity could harm Virginia’s progress, but I believe our state is stronger because of our diversity,” says Kaine in Spanish. “I will fight to create new opportunities for all of us, because we are all Virginia.”
“Soy Virginia” will air in major media markets across the state as part of the unprecedented $250,000 Spanish-language advertising campaign Tim Kaine launched in August. He has also engaged Virginia Latinos through a comprehensive Spanish language website (www.kaineforva.com/es), a consistent presence in Spanish-language media, and numerous events with Latino business and community leaders. Latinos for Kaine, a group launched in January by more than 100 Virginians, now includes more than 250 Virginia Latinos committed to sharing Kaine’s record and values with their friends and neighbors.
