Richmond, VA - This morning, Kaine for Virginia announced the campaign raised approximately $3 million in the second quarter of 2012, the campaign's most successful quarter thus far. This strong quarter was largely driven by grassroots donors, with more than 70% of contributions coming from those giving less than $200. To date, more than 27,000 donors have made contributions to help elect Tim Kaine to the U.S. Senate and close the financial gap with the outside groups who are flooding Virginia’s airwaves with millions of dollars in negative, misleading ads on behalf of George Allen.
Below is a sample of what the Virginia media is saying about Kaine’s strong fundraising quarter, his grassroots support, and his financial edge over George Allen.
