Today I want to introduce you to our next “Volunteer Spotlight” -- Topher Corbett! Topher comes to the Richmond headquarters each week. He always brings a little treat -- and who can complain about that?
We hope you’ll take a moment to read Topher’s story below and then take a moment to sign up to volunteer. We want to see you in one of our offices across the Commonwealth!

Christopher “Topher” Corbett
Topher carries himself with an easygoing demeanor that makes him an invaluable presence at the front desk. Whether it is greeting visitors as they come through the door or connecting callers to the correct staff member, Topher handles everything with a smile. In addition to his positive attitude, Topher has made a habit of bringing a bowl of jellybeans to the office -- a different variety each week. (Who knew there were so many different kinds of jellybeans!) Without Topher, our fantastic corps of front desk volunteers just wouldn’t be the same.

1. Where in VA do you live?
I just moved back to my hometown of Richmond after 17 years in New York City. Let me tell you, I am glad to be home!
2. Why do you think volunteering is important?
Volunteering is a way for me to support causes that I feel passionate about. It’s an important thing to do -- so others should make the time to do it! There is a great group of people in the Richmond office. I have had the chance to make some unexpected new friends.
3. What’s your favorite Virginia landmark/place?
I love the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond.
4. Why do you support Tim Kaine?
Tim exhibits strong Democratic principles and has worked to make Virginia more inclusive. He has helped to move Virginia forward, and this progress is a big reason why I returned from New York. I can say that Tim Kaine made Virginia a better state than when I left 17 years ago. Tim genuinely cares about people! His views on social issues are more unifying than polarizing. That is why I like Tim!
Now that you’ve learned a little about Topher, I hope you’ll follow his advice and make some time to volunteer. You can sign up to join our volunteer team below. We opened a new office in Virginia Beach/Norfolk last week, and there are more coming.
